Running
a report for a particular day |
|
Sometimes it is necessary to change the transaction
selections for a particular
report because it did not run as scheduled or because settlement
did not occur
during the usual period. Or you might simply need information for
a past date range. For example, consider a report with a Date/Time
selection of Today that is scheduled to run at 11:00
PM. If system problems prevent the report from running until the
next day, the report will select the wrong set of transactions.
To obtain the correct report results, you must change the Date/Time
selection to Yesterday.
Because transaction selections are saved as
part of the report definition, it's best to make a copy of the original
scheduled report so that you don't lose the standard selections.
Because the copied report includes all data associated with the
original report, including its schedule, you should delete the temporary
report after it runs.
| To create a temporary report |
| 1. |
In Report Manager, right-click
the report you want to run, and select Copy from the pop-up
menu. |
| 2. |
Enter a name for the temporary
report, and click OK to create it. |
| 3. |
Right-click the new report, and
select Edit. |
| 4. |
Click Parameters, and change
the date selections |
| 5. |
Change the selections as necessary.
Note that the Date/Time selection refers to the time a transaction
entered the selected Queue. |
| 6. |
Click OK to close Transaction
Selections, and OK again to close Edit Report. |
| 7. |
Run the report. |
|
| |
Searching for transactions with wildcards |
|
On EdgCapture's Transaction Selection screen,
you can use the percent sign (%) as a wildcard to match one or more
characters in any of the text search fields other than the Card/Account
Number. (Account numbers are encrypted in the database for security
purposes.) A wildcard substitutes for any unknown character or characters.
Wildcards are useful if you are unsure of the
spelling or have only partial information for a particular field.
For example, 'Br%n' will match the names 'Brown' and 'Braun'. Wildcards
can also be used to display a group of transactions that have common
data. For example, 978% will retrieve all transactions
with phone numbers in the 978 area code.

Shutting down the EdgCapture server |
| |
|
If you need to reboot or power off the EdgCapture
server machine, you should first shut the Edgil processes down cleanly.
You can use the Windows shutdown feature to stop the databases,
but it's best to shut down the Process Manager first.
In the Edgil Process Manager (EPM), select Control
Process Manager from the PMAN menu, and click Shut down PMAN. When
the message box asks you to confirm shutdown, click OK.
It is now safe to run shutdown from the Windows
Start menu.
