About Edgil

Founded in 1984, Edgil develops software applications primarily for the newspaper publishing industry. Edgil combines extensive knowledge of newspaper publishing systems with technical expertise in database management systems, electronic commerce, and Web application development. Committed to working as a partner with every customer, we offer system integration services, installation support, training, and continuing customer service for our products.

On October 21, 2003, Edgil was acquired by AdStar, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADST - News; Nasdaq: ADSTW - News), a leading software and application service provider for the classified advertising industry. Edgil's products and services, including our industry-leading EdgCapture payment processing solution, will continue to be offered under the Edgil brand.

EdgCapture processes over 12,000,000 newspaper advertising and circulation transactions annually for Tribune, Gannett, Knight Ridder, Copley, New York Times, Advance, Cox, and Village Voice Media properties, as well as many independent daily and specialty publications. In addition, Edgil's EdgFlow content processing technology is used by media organizations, such as the Associated Press (AP), The Boston Globe, and The Orange County Register, to meet a wide variety of content management needs.

Technological Difference
Defining and executing a payment processing strategy is one of the most important decisions your newspaper will have to make, and communication among advertising, circulation, and business systems is crucial to success. Thanks to our business and marketing relationships with most of the major newspaper system vendors, Edgil is uniquely positioned in this marketplace. Our extensive experience with integration services has given the EdgCapture product line the technical differentiation to satisfy the specific requirements of the publishing industry.

Edgil's product strategy focuses on providing newspapers with the financial benefits afforded by reduced labor costs and lower discount rates. And our technical expertise allows us to react quickly to market changes. EdgCapture is the chosen industry-wide solution for publishers who want to increase productivity and improve their bottom line using the latest in software technology.
